West End Guest House promotes a self-service check in – you may access the key box any time after 3pm on your day of arrival. Earlier arrivals may be possible. You will receive instructions on the confirmation email when you make a booking on how to use the self check in.

No breakfast is supplied, all our rooms are sold on a room only basis.
Check out – all rooms must be vacated by 10am on your departure date.
Unfortunately, there is no left luggage facility.
A non refundable 15% deposit is required to make a reservation. You are emailed 8 days prior to arrival with a payment link for the full amount minus the deposit. This is due 7 days prior to arrival after which the bookings becomes non refundable. If payment is not made 7 days prior to arrival your booking may be cancelled and the room opened for availability.
We very strongly advise persons travelling to Orkney to take out travel insurance to protect themselves against unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, such as bad weather which often disrupts the ferry and air travel to and from the islands. We will not accept transport disruption as a reason for refunds.

Please note if you have any personal mobility restrictions that our rooms are located over 3 floors and there is no lift facility.

Our free car park is situated to the rear of the hotel. If you are driving to us, please direct yourself to Manse Lane, rather than our postal address on Main Street. You will find us just a little way in on this lane. When you enter the guest house from the carpark entrance, please bear in mind that you come in on the first floor, with reception located on the ground floor.
